  4. There was extreme pressure on Patterson to produce Bigfoot footage quickly. An arrest warrant was brought against Patterson for not paying the bill for his long overdue, rented camera. He was up against a wall and had to come up with a film of a Bigfoot. There are two possibilities--that he is the luckiest Bigfoot searcher in history or that he is a hoaxer. Patterson not only was able to supposedly film a Bigfoot but was also lucky enough to allegedly find fresh Bigfoot tracks on the very first day that he went into the field. Maybe he was a little too lucky with regard to Bigfoot.

    1. Bigfoot sympathizer John Napier, then-director of the Primate Biology Program of the Smithsonian Institution, wrote in his excellent book Bigfoot: The Yeti and Sasquatch in Myth and Reality (E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc., NY, 1972), that the walk of the creature in the film was consistent with that of a modern man, that the body movements were grossly exaggerated, and the walk self-conscious, that the cone-shaped top to the skull is essentially a male characteristic "only very occasionally seen, to an insignificant extent, in females." Furthermore he felt that the center of gravity of the film subject is that of a modern man, rather than at a higher level as suggested by the physical build of the creature.

Most telling perhaps is "the presence of buttocks, a human hallmark, [which] is at total variance with the ape-like nature of the superstructure.... The upper half of the body bears some resemblance to an ape and the lower half is typically human. It is almost impossible to conceive that such structural hybrids could exist in nature." (Napier, p. 86)

Napier, one of the most reasonable of the scientists who accepts the possibility for the existence of Bigfoot, concluded that, "There is little doubt that the scientific evidence taken collectively points to a hoax of some kind. The creature shown in the film does not stand up well to functional analysis."

    3. Roger Patterson had one of the best pieces of footage ever taken, that's how he got complacent on taking the camera back on time.

Roger Patterson had help from experts like John Green, who identified Northern Callifornia as a hot bed of activity, based on the reports and track evidence found there in the years leading up to 1967. Al Hodgson stated that there were reports in the area when he came back from the war.

      Patty walks like a human, because it is a human. The limb ratios, though not all seen collectively in any one known example of modern human, are however all occassionally seen separately in a very small percentage of modern humans. Also, at page 15 here;

... The hips are too a very natural anatomical feature that we see in humans. Tellingly; not in any example of costume known to SFX. I really admire Napier, but he's clearly looking for a bipedal gorilla.

    4. Grover Krantz said that while the sagittal crest is typically in male gorillas it is only because they are bigger than females and it is more about size than male or female. They are rare in female gorillas but only because of size. it is more in relation to strong jaw muscles rather than sex . There is none in chimpanzees and other smaller primates .
Just a few weeks before Patterson got his film , tracks were found in the bluff creek area so it wasn't like his saw something that wasn't supposed to be there like a unicorn or dragon.
It isn't like Patterson was lucky on first try. He had been following the bigfoot story for years and in 1964 a friend told him he had found tracks and Patterson hurried down to the area and found and cast some and that was also near bluff creek. Each print was 17 inches and the stride was 52 inches .
sure Patterson was lucky that one day back in 1967 . He was at the right spot at the right time but you know that sometimes it happens to people- people do win the lottery and there are also times when people are at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was hoping to earn millions from his film but never did and swore on his deathbed it was true. So either he went to his grave telling a lie or someone fooled him without his knowledge or he saw a real bigfoot which i am convinced is what he saw.
Maybe all you skeptrolls start a gofundme page and raise the money to create a suit that can recreate the Patterson bigfoot and make sure it can show muscle movement like it does in the film. If you do that and it can fool me than I will admit you may be right but i know and you know you wont even try because deep down inside you know it isn't a suit. Til then- got monkey suit lads ?????

    5. Despite what Bigfoot fans write in their books and articles, there are a number of negative opinions of make-up experts like Tom Burman, Dave Kindlon, John Vulich, Mike McCracken, Rick Baker, Howard Berger, and many others. These make-up artists are not impressed by the subject of the Patterson film and believe it is a man in a suit based on their expertise.

    7. What?? A Hollywood SFX artist, always looking to self promote, claiming they can do "better than Patty"?? Wow... Didn't see that coming. Now ask them if they can source, for example, a fur cloth technique for what is seen in the footage.

      Spoiler alert; they can't.

    10. D.S- they may be very good at doing makeup but they are not anthropologists that would know that a huge jawbone = powerful jaw muscles which explains the sagittal crest . We are to believe by skeptics that Patterson must have created a suit with physical features only an expert would have known about or he was damn lucky in sewing together various pieces of fur that also mimic muscle movement when at the time there was no such thing as stretch fabric . I think i'd rather believe his pursuit of a bigfoot paid off on a October day in 1967.
To this day I still haven't seen one costume by these so called SFX experts that can even come close to the creature in the film to the point you can see the muscles moving unless it is CGI and that is no costume.

    17. I have always found people see what they WANT to see and that absolutely applies to the PG film. Some see muscles, some see zippers. Truth is it is just not quite clear enough to fully support either argument.

I actually think some of the visual data in that footage is it's most important quality. So much so that we can easily compare what's in it to human anatomy, such as skin folds, which no known fue cloth technique can account for.

    19. The soles on the feet in the footage brings to mind the Aleut legend of the white-faced bear. A successful bear hunter that was transformed into a wild bear known to have a white face and feet. I wonder if there's any correlation between the two?

    20. You know what? It doesn't matter if the film is real or hoaxed. Nobody outside of the Bigfoot community cares at all. In fact, try showing that film to people who aren't predisposed to Bigfoot. Nobody cares. Or, they laugh. It doesn't matter. It's not important, and spending decades arguing about it is for people who have nothing better to do. The film is worthless, meaningless, and a colossal waste of time.
